With the launch of UPI in 2016, there was a revolution in the world of digital payments. UPI gave the facility to transfer money directly to the bank account. Earlier there was a trend of a digital wallet. There is a hassle like KYC in the wallet, while nothing has to be done in UPI.

The operation of RTGS and NEFT payment systems in India is with the RBI. National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) operates systems like IMPS, RuPay, and UPI. The government mandated a zero-charge framework for UPI transactions from January 1, 2020.
If you are a new user and want to set up UPI with the help of your Aadhar card then you have to follow these steps.
- First of all, you have to download PhonePe from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Now open PhonePe and enter your mobile number and OTP in it.
- Now go to My Money page and from here tap on Payments methods.
- Here you will see the option of Add New Bank Account, tap it.
- Now select the bank in which you want UPI activation. Remember that your mobile number must be registered with the bank.
- After this PhonePe will check your bank account details and link the UPI with the account.
- Now you will be asked to complete the process with a Debit/ATM card or Aadhar card. Here you have to select the option with an Aadhar card.
- Now you have to enter the last six digits of the Aadhar card and enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
- After entering the OTP, you have to set the UPI PIN and your PhonePe UPI is completed.
