MI vs CSK IPL 2020: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets in the opening match of the 13th season of IPL. Mumbai lost 162 wickets in 20 overs losing 9 wickets in the match played in Abu Dhabi. In response, CSK scored 166 runs losing 5 wickets in 19.2 overs to win the match. Chasing 163 against Mumbai, both CSK team’s opener batsmen failed. Shane Watson was out for LBW by Trent Boult for 4 runs, while Murali Vijay was dismissed for one by James Pattinson. Ambati Rayudu, who came in to play at number 4 for Chennai, completed the half-century in 33 balls with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes, and got the team out of trouble. However, Rayudu was dismissed for 71 off 48 balls, but in the meantime he shared a 100-plus partnership with Faf Duplessis for the third wicket.
Mumbai Indians innings, Rohit Sharma did not work
Rohit Sharma and Quinton Dickock landed as the opening pair for MI in the opening match of the new season of IPL. Captain Rohit’s bat could not play in this match although he had started well. He was caught by Piyush Chawla for 12 runs by Sam Curran. Mumbai’s second setback was given by Sam Curran as Quinton Dickock. Batting well, Dickock was caught out by Sam by Shane Watson for 33 runs. Sourav Tiwari played a good innings and scored 42 runs from 31 balls, but his innings was ended by Ravindra Jadeja. Saurav Tiwary’s catch was caught by Duplessis. Hardik Pandya was caught by Jadeja at the hands of Dickock for 14 runs. Krunal Pandya was dismissed by Lungi Nagidi for 3 runs. While Pollard became the victim of Nagidi by 18 runs, James Pattinson scored 11 and was dismissed by Nagidi’s ball.
