Lasith Malinga Retired from T20: Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga has announced his retirement from T20 cricket. Thus his career is now officially over. He announced it on his new YouTube channel. Malinga has taken a total of 390 wickets in T20 cricket (including international and domestic). He is the fourth most successful bowler in this format. Malinga is also the highest wicket-taker in the world’s biggest T20 league IPL. He has 170 wickets in IPL.
Have Taken 546 Wickets in International Cricket
Malinga, who plays for Mumbai Indians in IPL, has taken a total of 546 wickets in all three formats of cricket for Sri Lanka. He announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2011 and ODI cricket in 2019. However, after that he continued to play T20 International matches for Sri Lanka.

Most Successful Bowler of T20 International
Malinga is the most successful bowler in T20 International cricket. He took 107 wickets in 84 T20 matches at an average of 20.79. However, his record may soon be broken. Shakib-al-Hasan of Bangladesh has taken 106 wickets in 88 matches. Malinga has taken 101 wickets in 30 matches in Test cricket and 338 wickets in 226 matches in ODI cricket. 4 Wickets in 4 Balls in Both ODI and T20 International
Malinga is the only bowler in the world who has achieved the feat of taking 4 wickets in 4 consecutive balls in ODI and T20 International matches. He did this feat against South Africa in the 2007 ODI World Cup. After this, in the T20 match against New Zealand in 2017, he also took 4 wickets in 4 consecutive balls.
