INDvs SA 2nd Test: India has taken a 565-run lead in the first Test being played against South Africa in Pune. By the end of the second day of the Test on Friday, South Africa scored 36 for 3 wickets. Earlier, India had declared the first innings by scoring 601 runs for 5 wickets. Captain Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 254 runs. Ravindra Jadeja hit an innings of 91 runs. Kohli scored his 7th double century of Test career. He is the world’s sixth and first Indian player to do so. Kohli overtook Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Ricky Ponting, Javed Miandad, Younis Khan, Mervan Attapattu.

South African opener Aiden Markram returned to the pavilion without opening an account. Dean Elgar was bowled for 6 after that. Both were dismissed by Umesh Yadav. Temba Bavuma (8) was caught by Mohammed Shami at the hands of Wriddhiman Saha. Theunis de Bruynne 20 and Enrich Nortje are unbeaten by 2 runs.

Kohli Completed 7 Thousand Runs in Test Match

Kohli also completed 7000 runs in Tests. He became the player to score the most double centuries as a captain. Before that, Sir Don Bradman had scored 6 double centuries. Kohli scored his 26th century in Test career. He became the first Indian and the second captain in the world to score 40 centuries in international cricket. In this case, former Australia captain Ricky Ponting scored 41 centuries globally.

INDvs SA 2nd Test 2nd Day: Ajinkya Rahane scored 59 runs and was caught by wicketkeeper Deacock off Keshav Maharaj. He shared a 178-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Kohli. It was the 10th century partnership for any wicket between the two. Ravindra Jadeja hit 12th career half-century. He shared a 225-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Kohli. Kagiso Rabada took three wickets for South Africa. Keshav Maharaj and Senuran Muthusamy had one success each. 

Virat as a Captain Scored the Most 150+ Runs

Indian captain Virat Kohli scored the highest score of his Test career (254 not out) against South Africa on Friday. With this, he also broke the record of Australia’s great batsman Dan Bradman to score the highest 150 plus as a captain in international cricket.

Virat Hit a Century After 10 Innings in Test

This is Kohli’s 69th international and 12th century at home ground. He is the fourth Indian after Sachin Tendulkar (51), Rahul Dravid (36) and Sunil Gavaskar (34) in the most centuries. Kohli hit a century after 10 innings. He scored his last century against Australia in Perth in December 2018. Then he had scored an innings of 123 runs.

Mayank Scored a Century in the Second Test in a Row

Earlier, on the first day of the match, Mayank Agarwal hit a 108-run knock, scoring his second consecutive century. He scored 215 runs in the last Test. Mayank is the second opener to score two consecutive centuries against South Africa. Earlier in 2010, Virender Sehwag did this in a series of two Tests. He scored 109 in Nagpur and 165 in Kolkata. Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed for 58 runs. Rohit Sharma had scored 14 runs.
