Chasing Target, India got off to a good start. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul added 50 runs in 31 balls for the first wicket. The break on this pair was put by Mitchell Santner by dismissing Rahul (15). NZ bowlers had to struggle again for the second wicket. Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav added 59 runs in 49 balls. This partnership was broken by Boult by taking the wicket of Rohit (48). The third wicket for NZ also came in Boult’s account. He bowled Suryakumar Yadav (62). Tim Southee took the wicket of Shreyas Iyer (5). In the last over, Venkatesh Iyer (4) was dismissed by Daryl Mitchell.

Rohit Sharma scored 48 runs in 36 balls with the help of 5 fours and two sixes. This was the third half-century of Suryakumar Yadav (62) in the seventh T20I innings.
