This year’s T20 World Cup may be officially postponed to the ICC meeting on 10 July. The World Cup is to be held in Australia in October-November. According to a report in Australia’s newspaper DailyTelegraph, the ICC may release news of the adjournment at the meeting. However, the meeting on Friday will not decide when the World Cup will be.
Australia is looking to organize it in October 2021. But India has to host the tournament next year. This means that Australia may have to wait 2 years.

Australia can tour England
According to the report, Australia’s team may tour England in mid-September. Then a limited overs series can be played between the two teams. If the World Cup is postponed, it means that the way for the IPL to be held will be opened for the BCCI. Looking at the growing case of Kovid-19 in India, Ganguly said that the league is more likely to be out of the country.
New Zealand offers to host IPL: BCCI
After UAE and Sri Lanka, New Zealand has now proposed to host the IPL. According to a BCCI official, after the postponement of the T20 World Cup, a window will be found for the IPL event. The board’s priority is to conduct IPL in the country. The BCCI will sit down with all stakeholders (broadcasters, teams etc.) and decide on it. The BCCI can start the IPL from the end of September and end by the early week of November.
Future of IPL 2020 Rests on ICC Decision
The ICC has deferred the T20 World Cup decision once again, after which the fans will now have to wait more on the IPL 2020 event. Actually, if the T20 World Cup is postponed, only in the month of October-November will the window of IPL be held.
