IPL 2022: The new IPL franchise Lucknow has appointed former opener Gautam Gambhir as the mentor of the team. For the first time in the IPL, Gambhir will be associated with a team as a mentor. Recently, Lucknow appointed former Zimbabwe captain Andy Flower as their head coach. Talking to Cricbuzz, Lucknow team owner Sanjeev Goenka confirmed this and said – Yes, we have roped in Gautam Gambhir as a mentor with the team.

Gautam Gambhir has made Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) champion twice under his captaincy. Under his captaincy, KKR defeated Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets in 2012 and Punjab Kings by 3 wickets in 2014. Apart from KKR, Gambhir was also the captain of Delhi Capitals.
