BCCI Meeting: 10 teams will play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be held in 2022. Bidding for this will be done in May for two new teams. The decision was taken at a meeting of BCCI officials led by Sourav Ganguly, Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). A source in the BCCI said that the meeting discussed the preparations for the IPL to be held this year and the Vinoo Mankad tournament under-19 and the tour of the women’s team. Apart from Ganguly, board secretary Jai Shah was also present in the meeting. After the bidding, the new team will be able to appoint coaches and other staff. It is expected that a mega auction will be held for the players before the 2022 IPL. Because of the Corona, a mini auction was held in place of the mega auction this year.

Under-19’s Veenu Mankad Tournament from May-June

The 50-over Vinoo Mankad tournament under-19 will be held after the board exam. According to the board source, many players are giving board exams. In such a situation, their board exam is not missed, so this tournament board will do it in May-June. It will also be the trial tournament ahead of next year’s Under-19 World Cup. The players for the World Cup will be selected on the basis of the performance of the players in this tournament.

The tournament will be played in New Zealand from 4 March to 3 April.

The Indian women’s team will travel to Australia later this year before the ODI World Cup. At the same time, the ODI series will be played in New Zealand before the World Cup in the beginning of next year. The Women’s ODI World Cup will be played in New Zealand from March 4 to April 3 next year.

57 Players Bid for IPL’s 14th Season

Of the 57 players sold, 22 were foreigners and 35 were Indians. After the auction, one player was left in Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and one player in Rajasthan Royals (RR). Chris Morris became the most expensive player of IPL auction so far, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for 16.25 crore rupees. He broke the record of Yuvraj, who was bought by Delhi for the 2015 season for Rs 16 crore.

The 14th Season of the IPL will Begin on April 9

BCCI has already released the schedule of 2021 IPL. The 14th season of the IPL will begin on April 9. The final match will be played on 30 May.
The final match of the 52-day tournament will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. All the IPL matches will be held in 6 cities Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.
