CBI Raid: Before the Delhi Assembly elections, the CBI paid Rs 2 lakh. Arrested 2 people, including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s OSD Gopal Krishna (GK) Madhav, on charges of taking bribe. Now the search is being done at the office of the officers and the house of the middleman. The CBI had said at the time of GK Madhav’s arrest that he was recovering money from transporters with the help of middlemen.

CBI sources said that in the case of bribery, the search operation is going on at the office of Delhi Government official GK Madhav and Udit Prakash Rai. Both of them are IAS officers. CBI sources said that offices of some other GST officers are also being processed. Apart from these, the CBI team is also searching at the house of Dheeraj Gupta, middleman living in Wazirabad.
Sisodia’s Notice on BJP’s Charge
According to the CBI, till now no role of Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has been revealed in this case. But the BJP alleged that the officer was taking a bribe for the Deputy Chief Minister. Here, Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia has sent a defamation notice to BJP MP Pravesh Verma. Pravesh Verma, at a press conference, accused Sisodia of corruption.
OSD Arrested on Information of Middleman
According to CBI, IAS officer Madhav was appointed OSD of Sisodia in 2015. A day earlier (Wednesday), the Central Investigation Agency arrested another accused Dheeraj Gupta, who was playing the role of middleman in the bribery scandal. A CBI spokesperson said on Friday – on the information of Dheeraj, OSD Madhav was arrested. He had told during interrogation that he used to charge bribe from transporters at the behest of OSD in exchange for defending GST related cases. Madhav is also posted as GST Officer in the Tracks Department of the Delhi Government. Both have been arrested for taking bribe of Rs 2.26 lakh.CBI Raid.
CBI Corrected: Sisodia
Manish Sisodia said that the CBI corrected it by holding a corrupt officer. We are not questioning the timing of the arrest. Whoever takes the bribe should be caught immediately. CBI should take strict action. The AAP government has always had zero tolerance against corruption.
OSD was Taking Bribe for Sisodia: BJP
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra tweeted – caught bribing for the OSD Manish Sisodia. He took Rs 2 lakh in the first installment of a bribe of Rs 10 lakh. These are all thieves who pretend to be common people. Now it is known why he did not appoint Lokpal. At the same time, BJP MP from West Delhi, Pravesh Verma said, “OSD is the name, its owner, who is our deputy CM Manish Sisodia. All this money goes in his pocket and he sends Biryani to Shaheen Bagh with the same money.
Voting for Delhi elections on 8 February
Voting will be held on Saturday for 70 assembly seats in Delhi. All preparations for this have been completed. The election campaign came to an end on Thursday. Now BJP-Congress and AAP candidates are going door-to-door contacting the voters. The election results will be announced on 11 February.
