A major accident took place on Sunday in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. During the funeral at the crematorium in Muradnagar here, many people were stunned by the roof of the gallery collapsing. Of these 21 were killed, 24 injured. All of them stood under the roof to avoid the rain. The person who was cremated, one of his sons has also died in the accident.

The gallery was built here two and a half months ago. People have alleged that inferior material was used to make the gallery.

Jayaram’s grandson Devendra told that when the funeral of the grandfather was taking place. When it was raining, a lot of people stood under the shed. Meanwhile, the roof collapsed and all the people standing there were buried. Devendra’s uncle has also died in the accident. A brother was buried under the rubble and the father is also injured.

Prime Minister Modi Expressed Grief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the news of the unfortunate accident in Muradnagar, Uttar Pradesh through Twitter. The state government is engaged in relief and rescue work. After the accident, the team of NDRF started in rescue. He also had problems due to rain. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to provide financial assistance of two lakh rupees to the dependents of the deceased. Also, a report has been sought from the police and administration.
