Bal Gangadhar Tilak was born on 23 July 1856 in Chikhali village of Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. From an early age he started taking iron from the British. He also went to jail several times and faced charges of treason. At the same time, Chandrasekhar Azad was born on 23 July 1906 in Madhya Pradesh. At the age of 14, he joined the movements. Chandra Shekhar Azad kept knocking the British forever. The British also sent him to jail.

When Chandrasekhar was 14 years old, he was arrested. Presented before the judge. When the judge asked his name here, he said very strongly that Azad. On asking the father’s name, he said loudly, ‘Freedom’. asking the address, he said – Jail. On this, the judge sentenced him to apply 15 whips in public. After which, they started calling him as Azad.

The Kakori scandal in 1925 shook the British badly. In this case, many other chief revolutionaries including Ashfaq Ulla Khan, Ramprasad ‘Bismil’ were sentenced to death.
