75th Independence Day: On the completion of 75 years of independence from the British Raj, the country is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of independence. The Prime Minister arrived at Rajghat wearing a saffron turban and offered flowers at the tomb of Mahatma Gandhi. He also circumambulated Gandhi’s Samadhi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on Sunday morning congratulating the Independence Day. He said that this year of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence should infuse new energy and new consciousness among the countrymen.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurls the tricolor at the main function at the Red Fort, in New Delhi. Olympic medalists were present at the Red Fort on this occasion. For the first time in the program of Independence Day, Air Force helicopter showered flowers.

The Prime Minister had started the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi in March 2021 from Sabarmati in Ahmedabad. Under this, the series of programs will continue till August 15, 2023.

Army, Navy, Airforce, Delhi Police gave Guard of Honor

The Guard of Honor for the Prime Minister was attended by contingents of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police. Each squad consisted of 20 soldiers and one officer. The Guard of Honor was led by Commander Piyush Gaur. The Navy contingent was led by Lieutenant Commander Sune Phogat, the Army contingent was led by Major Vikas Sangwan, the Air Force contingent was led by Squadron Leader A Berwal. The Delhi Police contingent was led by Additional DCP (West District) Subodh Kumar Goswami. 75th Independence Day.

All Three Army Chiefs Including CDS Welcomed at Red Fort

After inspecting the guard of honour, Prime Minister Modi reached the ramparts of the Red Fort. He was received here by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt and Defense Secretary Ajay Kumar. He was accompanied by Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, Army Chief General MM Naravane, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria.

All Three Services and Delhi Police Salute the National Flag

The tricolor was given a national salute during the unfurling of the national flag at the Red Fort. The National Flag Guard consisted of 130 personnel and 5 officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police. The squad performed a national salute at the time of unfurling of the flag. Navy Commander Kuldeep M Neralkar led the Inter Services Guard.

32 Olympians Including Neeraj Chopra were Present at Event

A total of 32 Olympians including javelin throw gold medalist Neeraj Chopra attended the Red Fort. Along with them, 240 Olympians and SAI officers were also present at the Red Fort. India’s best ever performance in Tokyo. India has won 7 medals, including one gold, two silver and four bronze.
