Suzuki Motorcycles has launched BS6 Suzuki Gixxer 250 and BS6 Gixxer SF 250 motorcycle in the Indian market. The naked Gixxer 250 is priced at Rs 1.63 lakh. At the same time, its fully-faired Gixxer SF 250 is priced at Rs 1.74 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Along with this, the company has also launched MotoGP Edition of Gixxer SF, which is priced at Rs 1,74,900. The company will begin dispatching the new 250 cc Gixxer range in the coming week, while deliveries will begin mid-June in view of the lockdown. Currently, more than 50 percent of Suzuki Motorcycle dealerships are operating across India.

How Expensive was It Already?
Compared to BS4 models, the BS6 Gixxer 250 has already become expensive by Rs 3400 while the Gixxer SF 250 has become expensive by Rs 3000 thousand over the old model. Let us know that the price of BS6 Gixxer 150 was expensive by Rs 12000 as compared to the old model.
What is the Difference in Power?
The Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 are powered by a 249 cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, SOHC engine that generates 26 bhp power at 9300 rpm and 22.2 Nm torque at 7300 rpm. The motor comes with a 6-speed gearbox and features the company’s ‘Suzuki Oil Cooling System’ (SOCS) technology, which has smooth acceleration, high output and low fuel consumption. Although the isa peak power is same as compared to BS4 models but it is producing 300 rpm more. At the same time, torque has dropped by 0.4Nm. Both models are the same in appearance.
What New Features will be Seen?
There will be no change in the looks of the bike. Talking about the features, this motorcycle is equipped with wide LED headlamps, newly designed fully digital instrument console, chrome-tipped and dual-port muffler, split seats, dual-channel ABS. The Gixxer 250 has a longer and wider handlebar and larger tank. At the same time, the Gixxer SF 250 has sporty low-set handlebars, a full fairing and a windshield. This bike has telescopic front forks and a monoshock suspension at the rear. Both the bikes have 17 inch wheels, with 150 / 60R tires on the rear and 110 / 70R tires on the front. Talking about braking, disc brakes are provided on both sides.
Who will Compete in the Market?
The Gixxer SF 250 will not be seen directly by anyone, but the naked Gixxer 250 will compete with the Yamaha FZ25 and Bajaj Dominar in the Indian market. At present, Yamaha has not disclosed the price of BS6 FZ25.
