The country’s leading vehicle manufacturer Mahindra (Mahindra) finally presented its much-awaited electric car XUV400 (XUV400) to the world on Thursday evening. And soon it will be introduced to the buyers in the Indian market. Mahindra XUV400 will compete directly with Tata Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max. The XUV400 electric car is based on Mahindra’s eXUV300 concept that was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. Mahindra has made some significant changes in the electric SUV. It gets an updated exterior as well as interior to differentiate it from the XUV300 SUV that comes with the conventional ICE (Internal Combustion Engine).

XUV will be Available in 5 Colors

Arctic Blue and Napoli Black color shows have been made on the official website. But, the car will also be available in Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, and Infinity Blue colors. There will be a dual-tone option on the roof, which will get a satin copper finish.

Test Drive and Booking

Customers will be able to take a test drive of the XUV400 in December 2022. The company has said that it will start announcing the price and booking of the new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV in January next year. Deliveries are also expected to start in January.

Power and Speed

The PSM electric motor in the XUV400 electric SUV generates maximum power of 147 hp and peak torque of 310 Nm. The top speed of Mahindra XUV400 is 150 kmph. It has three driving modes that change the power delivery and steering feel. The XUV400 electric SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.3 seconds.

Battery Pack

The XUV400 electric SUV has a battery capacity of 39.4 kWh and the battery pack is IP67 water and dust-proof. There is also a chiller and a heater for the battery and the battery is manufactured in India.

Driving Range

According to the Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC), the Mahindra XUV400 has a driving range of 456 km. Mahindra is also offering One Pedal Driving so that when the driver turns off the accelerator, the vehicle starts braking and generates electric power automatically.

Look and Design

The XUV400 SUV comes with a twin-peak logo which is of copper. Mahindra’s electric SUV will have a copper twins-peak logo and it has been given for the first time on the XUV400. The XUV400 looks very similar to the XUV300 but comes with different LED tail lamps, a longer length, an updated front and a new grille.

Dimension

In terms of size, the XUV400 measures 4,200 mm in length, 1,821 mm in width, and 1,634 mm in height. The XUV400 gets a wheelbase of 2,600 mm, which is on par with the XUV300.
