Mahindra has introduced its new 2020 Thar. The company will launch its off-road SUV on 2 October. At the same time, its pre-booking will start from the same day. This Thar is designed in India and produced at the Nashik plant.
Ramkripa Ananthan, chief designer of Mahindra & Mahindra’s automobile business, said, “Thar is an icon. Keeping in mind the needs of the customers, we have made changes to many aspects of Thar. We have made it more secure.”

Let’s see What will be New in 2020 Mahindra Thar
The track at New Thar has been increased to 1,820mm. That means now more space will be found in it. At the same time, R18 (255/65) tires have been used in it. It has a BS6 compliant 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine. At the same time, there is a 2.0 liter mStallion TGDi petrol engine. Both engines are equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It will be launched in 6 colors. Which includes Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Napoli Black, Aquamarine, Galaxy Gray and Rocky Beige color options.
The Thar will get a touchscreen infotainment system, which will come with support for Android Auto and Apple Car Play. For better sound quality, it will get roof mounted speakers. The Thar also includes a new MID unit, steering mounted control, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, traction control, dual airbags along with other safety features.
Got Petrol Engine for the First Time
Thar has included a petrol engine from the company for the first time. Its new turbo petrol engine will generate maximum power of 150 bhp and peak torque of 320 Nm.
Diesel Engine Performance
Talking about the new generation of Thar diesel model, it has a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine with BS6 compliant for strength. Its diesel engine will generate maximum power of 130 bhp and peak torque of 300 Nm.
Thar 2020: Price
The company has not yet removed the curtain from the prices of its new generation Mahindra Thar. Mahindra will announce its Thar 2020 prices on 2 October 2020.
