- This partnership will be similar to the existing joint ventures of KTM and Bajaj
Bajaj Auto and Triumph Motorcycle formally announced their partnership earlier this year to develop a mid-capacity motorcycle (from 200cc to 750cc). The partnership will be similar to the existing joint ventures of KTM and Bajaj, in which motorcycles will not only be developed in India but also managed by Bajaj.

The first product was expected to be launched in 2022 as a result of this joint venture, but now it seems that this motorcycle will be launched a year later. In his interview to ET, Bajaj Auto MD, Rajiv Bajaj revealed that the first motorcycle is expected to arrive in 2023 due to development delays.
Bajaj is Currently Busy Developing KTM Bikes
He also said that Bajaj Auto is currently busy developing a lot of motorcycles for KTM. The upcoming 490 Duke (which will be powered by a new parallel-twin engine) is also being worked on and a new Huskvarna model based on it is also expected to come later. Apart from this, Bajaj may soon plan to introduce a new model under its brand as well.

Bajaj will Handle Manufacturing and Export Operations
Earlier reports had said that the new motorcycles developed under the Triumph-Bajaj partnership would only retail under the Triumph brand. These bikes will have the facility of heavy localization (about 98-99 percent) to keep costs down. Interestingly, the first of these Triumph bikes will be launched in the same market as KTM and Huskvarna motorcycles in the Indian market.

Know Bajaj-Triumph First Bike Price
There is no detail available about the upcoming Bajaj-Triumph motorcycle, but rumors suggest that it will be a 200cc model, which will use the same underpinning as the KTM Duke. It is expected to be retro-inspired styling like the Triumph Bonneville. Its price is expected to be less than 2 lakh rupees, which will make it extremely competitive in the Indian market.
